City & Guilds 239-10 - Certificate in Building Regulations for Electrical Installations in Dwellings (Part P)
Who is the Course aimed at?
The primary aim of this knowledge based Level 3 qualification is to enable practising electricians, operating in the domestic environment, to gain an understanding of how electrical installations in dwellings must comply with all relevant Building Regulations.
This qualification is suitable for candidates working in the building trades and others who require a working knowledge of how electrical installations in dwellings can affect the building construction.
This Course is only suitable for candidates working in England and Wales as there are different regulations in Scotland and Northern Ireland.
What does the Course cover?
The Course is designed around the Government approved Document P (electrical safety) which came into effect in January 2005.
The Course concentrates on ensuring that practising electricians, who work within a domestic environment, have an acceptable level of knowledge of how electrical installations in dwellings must comply with all relevant Building Regulations.
Why should I attend this Course?
Since Document P came into effect, the mainstream work of domestic electrical installers and electricians working in dwellings became subject to the requirements and procedures associated with Building Control.
Electricians / domestic electrical installers need to appreciate the requirements that apply to the building work that they carry out in connection with their electrical work, and need to understand the way that Building Control works and the procedures that need to be followed.
The primary aim of this qualification is to enable suitable candidates to gain an understanding of how electrical installations in dwellings must comply with all relevant Building Regulations.
