City & Guilds 2392-10 0 Certificate in Fundamental Inspection, Testing and Initial Verification of Electrical Installations

Who is the Course aimed at?

This qualification is aimed at practicing electricians who have not carried out inspection and testing since qualifying or who require some update training before going on to attempt the City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in inspection, testing and certification of electrical installations.

It is also suitable for those with limited experience of inspection and testing of electrical installations, such as those entering the industry from other engineering disciplines or working in allied trades.

It is expected that candidates have a basic knowledge and understanding of the current BS:7671 (17th Edition) electrical science and principles. It is also expected that candidates have experience of electrical installation work either within the electrical contracting industry or an allied trade.

It is recommended that prior to this Course, candidates complete the City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in the Requirements for Electrical Installations (2382).

What does the Course cover?

The Course covers three specific outcomes:

  1. Preparation for initial inspection and testing
  2. Inspection
  3. Testing

The Course covers initial verification of new installations and new circuits, rather than periodic inspections on older installations.  The Course provides candidates with a fundamental knowledge of inspection and testing procedure and acts as a stepping-stone to the 2391-10 Inspection, Testing and Certification Course.

Why should I attend this Course?

This qualification was developed in conjunction with the electrical industry (including NICEIC and ECA) in order to meet the needs of the industry and to provide candidates with an introduction of how to inspect and test (conduct the initial verification) electrical installations.

This qualification prepares candidates for the initial verification of electrical installation work.  Combined with suitable on-site experience, it would prepare the candidate to go on to achieve the City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations (2391-10).

How long does the Course take?

The Course is delivered as three days theory and practical revision.  Candidates will also be required to attend on two additional half-days to complete the practical and online Assessments.

What does it cost and what is included?

The total cost for the Course is £395 + VAT.  This price includes all revision, Course handouts, Assessment and certification fees.  We require a minimum deposit of £200 to confirm your place.

Please be aware that we currently only offer this Course at our Portsmouth Centre.

What happens after the Course?

Once you have completed the Assessments, your results will be uploaded to City & Guilds who will issue a certificate within approximately two weeks.  This certificate is then sent to us for checking and providing that all the details are correct we will forward it to you.
