Health and Safety Courses
We have seen a growing requirement for our customers to hold relevant Health and Safety qualifications. With this in mind, we are now able to offer qualifications in CoSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health), Manual Handling and Working at Heights. If you want more information then please contact our Training Advisers to discuss your requirements, course dates, availability and prices. All courses are available at either Burgess Hill or Portsmouth Training Centres plus some courses can be delivered at customers' business premises or venue of the customers choice - we come to you.
As these qualifications are also prerequisite qualifications for our Solar Thermal Hot Water course, we offer them on day one of the Solar programme.
In addition we also offer First Aid and Fire courses.
First Aid (Background info)
The Law
The Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 require employers to provide suitable first-aid equipment, facilities and personnel to enable immediate assistance to be given to employees if they are injured or become ill at work. Regulation 3(2) states that in order to provide first aid to injured or ill employees, a person shall not be suitable unless he has undergone -
- such training and has such qualifications as the Health and Safety Executive may approve for the time being in respect of that case or class of case, and
- such additional training, if any, as may be appropriate in the circumstances of that case.
Self Employed
A self-employed person shall provide, or ensure there is provided, such equipment, if any, as is adequate and appropriate in the circumstances to enable him to render first-aid to himself while he is at work.
A systematic approach to assessment should be adopted for deciding how much first-aid provision is needed by the self-employed.
