National Apprenticeship Week 2022 - Luke Robertson

11th February 2022

Luke Robertson - 2nd Year Electrical Apprentice

What made you apply for an apprenticeship?

I didn’t want to go through the typical university education. An apprenticeship appealed to me as I wanted to earn while I learn and gain new skills.

How has it been training at Steve Willis Training?

Steve Willis has been a great college to attend with engaging lessons and experienced teachers with great industry knowledge.

What has been the best part of your apprenticeship?

I enjoy going to work to improve my practical skills but also going to college and learning theory. The skills I learn at the centre help me gain more experience on site.

What skills have you gained from your apprenticeship?

I’ve learnt a lot of skills since starting my apprenticeship like how to use my all my tools on different appliances. My maths knowledge has also greatly improved since starting at Steve Willis Training.

Would you recommend doing an apprenticeship to other?

I would highly recommend an apprenticeship to anyone who isn’t sure about going to university but wants to continue their education.
