CIPHE visit Steve Willis Training

5th December 2018

CIPHE President Tracey Richardson visited Steve Willis Training’s Burgess Hill Training Centre this week.

When she took office in the summer, Ms Richardson spoke of her concern about standards in the FE training sector, so she was keen to learn about apprenticeship training provision at Steve Willis Training Centres.

After a tour of the centre, Ms Richardson popped in to see a group of apprentices who were hearing about CIPHE membership from Membership Manager Marie McCaffrey who was also on site.

MD Steve Willis was delighted to welcome the President, and has a long personal association with CIPHE:

“I was a student member of CIPHE when I did my plumbing apprenticeship, and I’ve been a member ever since. We value the relationship we have as we are both working towards the same aim of maintaining the highest standards for training in our industry.”

Ms Richardson was impressed with what she saw at Steve Willis Training, and sees an important role for such private training providers in the future:

“I think what I’ve seen today is absolutely fantastic, it’s like a little Tardis almost - there’s so much space being utilised perfectly.  Many private training providers deliver first class quality, with trainers who dedicate themselves to the industry, and centres like this are a gold standard."

We are proud to be a CIPHE approved training centre, and are committed to maintaining the highest standards in plumbing training.
