Apprenticeships for all ages...

19th July 2019

Apprenticeships are for anyone, not just school leavers, and they can be an ideal way for a business to upskill their existing workforce.

As an employer looking to invest in the future, you could train up an existing employee through one of our apprenticeship programmes. You'll gain a fully qualified engineer who will benefit your business in the long term.

There is government funding available, whatever the age of the apprentice - even if they're over 19 the government still pays 95% of the training costs. (And if the apprentice is aged 16-18 training costs are fully covered for small businesses with under 50 employees). There are no Class 1 NI contributions for apprentices under 25, and for levy paying larger companies, it's a great way to ensure the levy money is well spent.

If you're working in the gas, plumbing or electrical trades and want to become fully qualified, an apprenticeship is a great way to train while continuing to work - ask your employer if they'll invest in you.

New gas and electrical courses start at our Burgess Hill and Portchester centres in September.
