Level 3 the second part of the plumbing apprenticeship and you must already hold the Level 2 (C&G 6189-11) qualification. On completion, this apprenticeship will enable you to design, install and maintain both central heating and plumbing systems working under minimal supervision. Successful completion of this qualification will enable learners undertaking gas related units at Level 3 to register with Gas Safe. 

It is a 2 year modular programme following on from Level 2 and includes:

  • Complex Cold Water systems
  • Complex Hot Water systems
  • Central Heating systems
  • Gas Safe Register accreditation in: Core Gas Safety (CCN1), Meters (MET1), Installation & Maintenance of Central Heating Boilers and Water Heaters (CENWAT) and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) in Permanent Dwellings (CoNGLP 1PD). Achieved through a series of Technical papers, formative Centre based and on site assessments and final summative Centre based assessments

Throughout this qualification learners undertake various assessments, both workplace and training centre based. 

We also offer opportunities to gain qualifications in Unvented Hot Water, Essential Electrics and Energy Efficiency either during your apprenticeship or after completion.
