This course is intended for qualified Electricians with practical experience of inspection and testing of electrical installations, who require proof of competency or certification in this important area of their work.
This updated programme is a replacement for City & Guilds 2394 / 2395. It is based around the requirements for the current edition of the Wiring Regulations and Inspection and Testing Guidance Note 3. The qualifications cover the inspection, testing and certification of single and three-phase electrical installations and periodic inspection, testing and reporting. These qualifications are recognised by the electrical industry as the benchmark for those who carry out initial verification as well as periodic inspection and testing activities.
The 2391 programme provides three assessment options - initial verification; peridioc inspection and testing; and a combined assessment. All three consist of a practical exam and open book multiple choice written paper. If you work on new installations you will need the initial verification qualification, for older installations the periodic inspection and testing, and the combined assessment will cover your for both.
The course can be run on demand with no fixed exam dates, and results are now available on the day of the exam.
This programme forms a useful bridge between City & Guilds 2382 (18th edition) and City & Guilds 2396, which we also offer.
These courses are not suitable for non-qualified Electricians and/or those who do not have any experience in inspecting, testing and certificating electrical installations.
The course includes 7 days of classroom based theory based revision plus the practical and written exam.
For courses running until the end of 2018, candidates may hold a 17th Edition qualification, but for all courses from 1 January 2019, the 18th Edition is required.
