The course enables candidates to understand and work to the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989. It can be tailored to suit any operative who requires basic electrical knowledge and an understanding of electrical regulations and safety. Central heating & Wiring Controls systems are also covered.
Successfully completing this course will enable candidates to exchange equipment including electric pumps (such as central heating / shower or booster pumps), motorised valves, room thermostats and immersion heaters. It will also enable the candidates to successfully fault find and repair general central heating systems. NB Connections to showers and cookers are not covered by this course.
This course is delivered over four days with assessments taking place as required throughout the programme.
Day 1 & 2 – Essential Electrics (this will be tailored to suit the needs of Gas Engineers/Plumbers).
Day 3 – Central Heating Controls wiring e.g. S Plan, Y Plan and equivalents.
Day 4 – Central Heating Controls fault finding e.g. fault finding techniques, replacement of components etc.
