This course if for technicians who wish to service and commission vaporising appliances, such as many Agas, Rayburns and room heaters.
It is suitable for Category 1 Applicants who wish to renew their OFT10-102 qualification, and Category 2 candidates recognised by OFTEC as having an allied trade - for example current gas engineers. We recommend that Category 2 candidates complete our brief self declaration form and attend our 1 day Oil Practical Pre-Training course before taking this all theory course. Category 3 candidates who are completing this assessment for the first time and do not hold a current allied trade will require relevant on-job experience - contact one of our Sales Consultants for further advice.
Areas covered by this course include:
- Health and Safety
- Regional legislation and requirements
- Knowledge of oil storage and supply
- Knowledge of heating systems
- Knowledge of appliance installation
- Safe electrical isolation
- Fire valve installation
- Practical servicing and commissioning
Unless you have done an OFTEC assessment within the 6 months prior to taking this course, you must attend the OFT10-600A revision session included in order to cover the underpinning knowledge common to all assessment categories. You may then decide to take the OFT10-600A Assessment which we can arrange for you.
If you are interested in more than one assessment category, discounted packages are available - talk to our sales consultants.
Further details may be found in the course information sheet (CIS 022).
