St Wilfrid’s Catholic School is in the heart of Burgess Hill. They are looking for local businesses to sponsor and support the repair and improvement of their swimming pool, which is well-used by both the school and the local community.
The pool was initially built in 1968, with the addition of the changing room block in 1979. Through parent support and kind donations, the pool changing facilities have been fully upgraded. However, the pool itself needs further significant work and upgrades to ensure that it is fit for purpose for the community for the next 50 years!
Repairs to a leaking roof, the replacement of an oil-fired boiler and the addition of an air source heat pump (to make it financially viable and sustainable) are all required.
With only 15% of state schools having a swimming pool, and many of these closing due to the cost of repair and maintenance, this pool is a vital resource for the children and community of Burgess Hill.
In return for a donation or sponsorship, the local business will be celebrated in the school's weekly newsletter, will be able to attend the Grand Re-Opening, and signage can be agreed upon for the pool to recognise their support.
Any donation, whether large or small, will really help and give the pool the love and care it needs to continue being a vital resource for the children and community of Burgess Hill.
