Helping local charities

Supporting local charities is an important aspect of our company’s commitment to giving back to the community.

We believe in the power of collective efforts to create positive change and improve the lives of those in need. By partnering up with local charities, we aim to contribute to the betterment of our community and make a meaningful impact. It not only allows us to give back to the communities where our centres are based in Burgess Hill and Portchester but also strengthens our relationship with our customers and employees. By working together with local charities, we can make a significant difference and contribute to the overall well-being of our communities and support the next generation.

Burgess Hill Youth

Steve Willis first became involved with Burgess Hill Youth in 2011 when it was previously known as Burgess Hill Boys Club. At that time, Burgess Hill District Lions had made an appeal for a local business to sponsor a Chicory Tip Concert featuring music from the 60s and 70s, with all the proceeds going towards benefitting the Boys Club. Showing great enthusiasm and generosity, Steve came forward to sponsor this annual event. In recognition of Steve's support, the Lions Club stepped forward to add a new category to our Apprenticeship Graduation to acknowledge the apprentice who had overcome the most significant challenges throughout the year during their apprenticeship and attending Steve Willis Training Centre in Burgess Hill. It is particularly meaningful for Steve to have chosen Burgess Hill Youth as his designated charity. Having fond memories of his own time spent at the club when he was younger, he now takes great pride in supporting and contributing to its initiatives.

Motiv8

Steve Willis Training Centres has selected Motiv8 as their chosen charity to support in the Portchester area. Motiv8 is a commendable community-based organisation that undertakes remarkable work in assisting young individuals and families throughout their various stages of growth. The charity establishes secure environments where trusted adults are available to provide guidance and aid in the development of necessary skills, tools, and resilience needed to overcome the challenges of everyday life. Since each person and family faces unique circumstances, they may require distinct forms of support for differing periods. Motiv8's approach ensures adaptability, enabling young individuals and families to remain involved, access ongoing assistance, and return if they require additional guidance to strengthen their capabilities, acknowledging that setbacks may occur along their life's journey.

St Wilfrid's Catholic School

St Wilfrid’s Catholic School is in the heart of Burgess Hill. They are looking for local businesses to sponsor and support the repair and improvement of their swimming pool, which is well-used by both the school and the local community. The pool was initially built in 1968, with the addition of the changing room block in 1979. Through parent support and kind donations, the pool changing facilities have been fully upgraded. However, the pool itself needs further significant work and upgrades to ensure that it is fit for purpose for the community for the next 50 years! Repairs to a leaking roof, the replacement of an oil-fired boiler and the addition of an air source heat pump (to make it financially viable and sustainable) are all required. With only 15% of state schools having a swimming pool, and many of these closing due to the cost of repair and maintenance, this pool is a vital resource for the children and community of Burgess Hill. In return for a donation or sponsorship, the local business will be celebrated in the school's weekly newsletter, will be able to attend the Grand Re-Opening, and signage can be agreed upon for the pool to recognise their support. Any donation, whether large or small, will really help and give the pool the love and care it needs to continue being a vital resource for the children and community of Burgess Hill.
