The Gas Engineering Operative Level 3 apprenticeship offers a comprehensive, three-year training programme designed to equip you with the skills and qualifications necessary for a successful career in the gas industry. In the first year, you’ll focus on essential topics like health and safety, emergency first aid and the core principles of gas engineering. The second year delves into specific gas appliances and includes the crucial assessment cycle. By the third year, you’ll be ready to complete your industry-recognised ACS accreditation and undertake the End Point Assessment (EPA), finalising your qualifications in domestic gas. Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to enrol in a FREE Heat Pumps course, further enhancing your expertise in sustainable energy solutions.(This offer is available exclusively to students who started their course in 2023 or later).
The Plumbing & Domestic Heating Technician Level 3 apprenticeship is a thorough three to three and a half years programme, that prepares you for a rewarding career in plumbing and domestic heating. In the first year, you will cover the essentials, in health and safety, common plumbing techniques, scientific principles, and planning and supervision, and the basics of water and heating systems. The second year focuses on decommissioning, testing, and commissioning plumbing and heating systems, while classroom sessions strengthen your knowledge of plumbing principles and system controls. In the final phase, you will advance your skills in diagnostics, fault rectification, and the installation, servicing, and repair of heating systems, including comprehensive training on gas safety standards and combustion properties. Your journey culminates with the End Point Assessment (EPA), after which you’ll be fully qualified in plumbing and domestic heating.
The Installation & Maintenance Electrician Level 3 apprenticeship offers a balanced, hands-on learning experience over three years, preparing you for a career as a fully qualified electrician. In the first year, you’ll split your time between the workshop and the classroom, focusing on health and safety, scientific principles and starting your portfolio. The second year is classroom-intensive, where you’ll dive deeper into scientific principles and begin working on installation practices and procedures, all while continuing to build your portfolio. In the third year, you’ll return to a 50/50 split between practical and theoretical learning, with the goal of completing your portfolio and theory units. Your apprenticeship concludes with the End Point Assessment (EPA), including the AM2/S test, after which you’ll be fully qualified as an electrician.
