Who is your employer, and what does the company do?
MTK Electrical Services. They are a complete electrical contracting company that provides a professional, high-quality service every time: commercial, domestic, industrial, installations, testing and remedials.
What year of your apprenticeship are you in, and what apprenticeship programme are you on?
I am in the 2nd year of my apprenticeship, and i am on the Installation & Maintenance Electrician apprenticeship.
What motivated you to apply for an apprenticeship, and how did you first hear about this opportunity?
I applied to better my family’s life rather than being stuck in a dead-end job earning minimum wage. I heard about the opportunity through my boss, who has had several students go through Steve Willis Training.
What has been the most rewarding or enjoyable part of your apprenticeship so far?
The most rewarding part of the apprenticeship for me is realising my potential.
Can you share your experience with Steve Willis Training? How has it supported your learning and development?
Training through Steve Willis Training has been a pleasure so far, the consistency of teaching, is second to none, and I actually feel I’m learning a trade that will change our lives.
What new skills and knowledge have you gained during your apprenticeship, and how do you apply them in your work?
Confident in my ability to carry out tasks given to me. The knowledge I gain through the training centre gives me a much better understanding when carrying out the practical side on site.
