This course is for candidates who work on domestic and or light commercial pressure jet appliances, for example, boilers.
The course covers:
- OFTEC registration and health and safety
- Basic oil-fired appliance installation
- Corrosion in heating systems
- Commissioning, servicing, and fault finding.
- Basic oil storage
- Heating system controls
- Appliance and tank installation
It is suitable for Category 1 candidates who wish to renew their OFT10 – 101 qualification, and Category 2 candidates recognised by OFTEC as having an allied trade, for example, current gas engineers. We recommend that Category 2 candidates complete our brief self-declaration form and attend our one-day Oil Practical Pre-Training course before taking this all-theory course. Category 3 candidates who are completing this assessment for the first time and do not hold a current allied trade will require relevant on-job experience.
Unless you are a candidate that has done an OFTEC assessment within the last six months before taking this course, you should attend the OFT10-600A revision session included to cover the underpinning knowledge common to all assessment categories. You may then decide to take the OFT10-600A assessment which we can book for you.
