This course has been developed to bring the existing workforce up to date with the current requirements of Approved Document L1A and L1B (Building Regulations – England and Wales). Approved Document L1A covers the requirements for NEW dwellings and approved Document L1B covers EXISTING dwellings.

Installation of central heating systems is a controlled service and needs to comply with Building Regulations. Gas engineers who are registered with Gas Safe will usually self-certify boiler installations and it is therefore essential that they are familiar with the legislative requirements governing the heating system design and controls. As well as covering good practice and general requirements relating to the conservation of fuel and power, the course will explain how installers can comply with the requirements of Approved Documents L1A and L1B – zone control, boiler interlocks, timing control, insulation requirements, pumped primaries, etc.
