This course is for applicants who wish to install oil-fired appliances such as boilers and Agas. It is aimed at Category 1 applicants renewing their OFT10 – 105E qualification, and Category 2 applicants completing this assessment for the first time (sufficient on-job experience is essential).
The course covers:
- OFTEC registration and health and safety
- Oil-fired appliance installation
- Oil storage and supply
- Heating systems
- Fire valve installation
- Safe electrical isolation
- Energy efficiency
Unless applicants have done an OFTEC assessment within the last six months prior to taking this course, they should attend the OFT10-600A revision session included to cover the underpinning knowledge common to all assessment categories. They may then decide to take the OFT10-600A assessment which can be arranged separately. Applicants who wish to service and or commission oil-fired boilers or appliances must also complete the OFT10-101 and or OFT10-102.
On completion of this course (without 101/102) applicants may install appliances, registering with OFTEC accordingly, but must be a 101-qualified and registered engineer in commission and installation.
